An example of our country specific training programmes.
In-country training for American personnel and their families
Foreigners in Finland face the same problems as we do when moving to live in a new culture. Everyday tasks are done differently and the Finns do not behave the way foreigners are used to. The new arrivals experience culture shock, and the Finnish climate is even worse than they expected.
The main purpose of in-coming training is to give individuals or families the information and help needed to make the assignment in Finland a success so that the likelihood of failure is minimized. The training programme is developed consistent with the need of the individual or family.
Training can be given to one or more families at the same time. It should happen soon after they have arrived to Finland.
